Gigi is a five year old corgi/chihuahua mix who was originally found as a stray and never claimed. She spent a few months at a shelter, but that can be a scary place. We were asked if we could get her into a foster home and help find her a home to call her own.

She weighs around 12-13 pounds. She can be shy at first and will need some time to warm up to new people and new situations. She is overall good with people, but because of her shyness, we wouldn't recommend her with small kids that can be pretty energetic and scary to a shy dog. She is good with other dogs.

Gigi is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative and on preventatives. She is also microchipped and dewormed.

Adoption fee is $300 + tax (no checks) The adoption fee will be reduced by $100 through June 1st in honor of National Rescue Dog Day!

This dog will be at our adoption event at the Woodbury PetSmart on Saturday from 11-2 looking for their forever home!

Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.

Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
