Schmidt is a five year old corgi/chihuahua mix who was originally found as a stray and never claimed. He spent a few months at a shelter, but that can be a scary place. We were asked if we could get him into a foster home and help find him a home to call his own.
He weighs around 12-13 pounds. He can be shy at first and will need some time to warm up to new people and new situations. He is overall good with people, but because of his shyness, we wouldn't recommend him with small kids that can be pretty energetic and scary to a shy dog. He is good with other dogs.
Shmidt is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative and on preventatives. He is also microchipped and dewormed.
Adoption fee is $350.00 + tax (no checks)

This dog will not be at our adoption event at the Woodbury PetSmart on Saturday. Please contact the foster for more info.
Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home. Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable.
There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
