Tater

American Staffordshire Terrier Pit Bull Terrier

If you are interested in any of the dogs available at New Leash Rescue, you can reach out to the foster listed below for more information and then complete an adoption application which can be found at https://www.newleashrescue.org/adopt/policy. Please email the completed application to newleashrescue2018@gmail.com

Meet Tater! What a handsome guy he is! He likes swimming, playing with other dogs, and being with his people! He loves to be a couch potato too! He's a good boy who loves to go for walks!

He originally came to us from a shelter that was closing. He is not a big fan of young energetic puppies or cats. He has prey drive for birds and squirrels when he is out for walks and will do best in a home with a fenced in yard. He also needs a home where kids are ages 12 and up.

He needs a family/more experienced owner that is willing to continue working on training with him, and who is more of a home body that won't be looking to take him to places where there would be other younger kids around.

He's about 3-4 years old and about 50 lbs. Up to date on all his shots, dewormed, neutered and microchipped. Who wouldn't just love this cuddle bug?!

Adoption fee is $275 + tax (no checks)

Foster to contact: Kim at 507-351-6647 or k.balder@hotmail.com

Tater will be at our adoption event at the Woodbury PetSmart on Saturday, July 11th from 11-2pm.

Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home. Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable.

There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
