Franklin is a 1-2 year old miniature pinscher/chihuahua mix who came to us from an impound where he was a stray and wasn't claimed. He is a leggy boy and only weighs about 10 pounds. He is a little skinny from his time on his own and we are working gaining some weight.
When he first came to his foster home, he was scared and took a few days to warm up. After he was comfortable, he became a loving and very cuddly guy! He loves attention and wants to be near you. Franklin will do best with older children ages 9 and up, and a home that doesn't have constant visitors coming and going all the time.
He seems to have some potty pad training, but has pottied outside too. All dogs will need a housetraining refresher when they move to a new house and routine. Franklin's front leg has a curved deformity to it, but it isn't painful to him and he gets around just fine. We did xrays and surgery isn't currently recommended because it isn't an issue for him at this time.
He is such a loving boy!!
Adoption fee is $350.00 + tax (no checks)

This dog will be at our adoption event at the Woodbury PetSmart on Saturday from 11-2 looking for a home!
Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.
Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
